Yunnan Zheng Bang Technology Co., Ltd., Anhui Neike Extrusion Technology Co., Ltd., and Foshan Barton Phears Cincinnati Plastic Equipment Co., Ltd. jointly unveiled the technological achievement of ‘PVC-Based High-Fill Biomass Fiber Composite Materials’ in Kunming, Yunnan. The attendees of the achievement release event included leaders from the New Materials Division of Yunnan Provincial Commission of Industry and Information Technology, several domestic PVC manufacturing companies, wood-plastic composite producers, well-known domestic flooring companies, the Wood Plastic Association, and China Building Materials Daily.
The new ‘PVC-Based High-Fill Biomass Fiber Composite Material’ is an environmentally friendly composite material made from special PVC resin and modified and refined straw fibers (powder) or other forest by-products (wood chips, scraps) as the main raw materials. It is processed and formed by extrusion after mixing. This material features advantages such as insect resistance, decay resistance, moisture resistance, flame resistance, and suitability for sawing, planing, and nailing. Moreover, it does not release toxic and harmful substances like formaldehyde and benzene. The production process primarily utilizes straw fibers (or other biomass fibers) and employs high-shear extrusion molding, resulting in high material density (density ≥ 1.2g/cm3) and superior physical and mechanical properties compared to conventional wood. It can replace the majority of wood in construction, flooring, and decoration materials, saving forests and efficiently utilizing agricultural straw and forest by-product waste. At the same time, it provides society with environmentally friendly and harmless green products.
